Lam's Research Group

Current Research Interests

The research team focuses on design, synthesis and characterization of nanostructured functional materials that can be based on small molecules, polymers and hybrid materials. The functionality of these materials is demonstrated through their use in various applications to ensure a sustainable future. Her team is working on a range of projects ranging for clean energy and energy storage to innovative material solutions for environmental regeneration and food production. In the realm of environmental regeneration, the team uses functional materials to manage water resources and using phytoremediation as a natural way to regenerate environment. They also work on area relating to alternative substrates for indoor and rooftop farming. Recycling of commonly used plastics such as PET is also one of the focus of the team with the aim to reduce the impact of these plastic waste to the environment.
